“Krasny Kotelshchik” Improves Production Capabilities

Heat treatment furnace was commissioned after its profound modernization at the Taganrog Boiler-Making Works “Krasny Kotelshchik”. The furnace is used in production process for the heat treatment of tube billets and for pre-heating of sheets and plates prior to bending thereof.

In implementing the project, particular focus was made on quality enhancement of performed operations. Thus, owing to the equipment modernization the steady metal heating to the max. temperature of 1150ºС was achieved. At that, the furnace heating rate is varied in a range of 10 to 250 °С/h which is the optimal rate meeting the manufacturing process requirements.

Particular attention was paid to the furnace performance gain. The latter was achieved both on account of the furnace heating time optimization, as well as due to the installation of some additional devices, for example, of a recuperative heat exchanger. The heat exchanger allows reducing the gas flow at furnace operation.

Further to the above, the furnace was lined with new refractories which is an additional way to increase the equipment service life and its thermal efficiency, as well as to provide the compliance with the up-to-date safety requirements.

Convenience of the personnel while performing the operations was achieved on account of changing the furnace over to the automatic touch-sensitive control. User-friendly interface is fit both for experienced specialists as well as the beginners learning the heat treatment furnace operator profession.
