PJSC “Krasny Kotelshchik” sets up a new-generation process equipment for production

The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works “Krasny Kotelshchik” (TKZ) has put into operation an up-to-date plant for heat treatment of tube bendings made of austenitic steel. The company procured the new equipment within the framework of the annual investment program.

Tubes with the diameter of 25 – 65 mm are used in manufacturing the boiler heating surfaces, in which PJSC “Krasny Kotelshchik” specializes. According to the technology, their bendings shall be heat-treated, which requires equipment with relevant functionality, for instance, an austenization plant that heats the tubes by means of passing the electric current through them.

The plant, which TKZ procured, belongs to the new-generation equipment. It is equipped with the numerical control, operates in automatic mode under the set programs, reacts quickly to the personnel actions. The austenization schedule is shown on a special display. The heat treatment results are recorded in the device memory with a possibility of further printing.

The design-provided pyrometers are intended for controlling the temperature inside and outside of the bending, they make it possible to avoid the metal overheating and to improve its heat treatment quality. Availability of circulation cooling system guarantees the uninterrupted austenization equipment operation and assures its long service life.

In the light of the above-mentioned advantages, this plant surpasses an analogue that was used by the company earlier. The analogue has been operated for more than 50 years, and it wore out physically and became obsolete. That’s why the plant was replaced with the new advanced equipment.
