Reliability and Performance of Permskaya GRES Enhanced with Equipment of “Krasny Kotelshchik”
At one of the most important generating facilities of Russia, Permskaya GRES (being part of JSC “Inter RAO-Elektrogeneratsiya”), the ceremony of commissioning of Power Unit No. 1 was carried out after the modernization. The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works “Krasny Kotelshchik” (TKZ) was among the participants of the large-scale project.
“Krasny Kotelshchik” designed and manufactured a large lot of equipment with a total weight exceeding 2000 tons for Permskaya GRES. The prevailing part of the delivery were superheaters of manufactured by TKZ Boiler ТПП-804, which had been operated as part of the power unit since 1986. While designing the equipment the up-to-date technical solutions were adopted which allowed extending the operational lifetime of Unit No. 1.
Replacement upon expiry of service life of the key equipment with modern analogues was carried out within the framework of the state program for power facility modernization. Participation of “Krasny Kotelshchik” in the renewal of one of the largest thermal power plants of Russia occupying the fourth line in this list contributed to enhancement of the reliability and performance of the first power unit.
“Krasny Kotelshchik” which turns 128 this year has a vast experience of creating power equipment for the largest generating facilities. Hence, the boiler unit of Permskaya GRES modernized by TKZ experts passed the reliability run successfully and was put in operation. Further to the delivery, TKZ specialists provided the equipment erection and commissioning supervision, participated in the commissioning operations and guarantee performance tests.
It bears reminding that the cooperation of “Krasny Kotelshchik” and Permskaya GRES has long-standing traditions and eminent examples of success. Just so, in 2017 the joint project of equipping Power Unit No. 4 with two HRSGs produced by TKZ was implemented. At the time of commissioning, this Unit had the best for its type of equipment technical and environmental characteristics according to expert opinion.
